Discuss your process for creating an interesting realistic scene, selecting elements, materials, etc.

I began by thinking up a place in my mind where I could have a significant amount of terrain, rocks, and plants (the cactus), yet also support an animal. The first place that came to mind was an island, but I changed that idea into a desert.

Discuss adding your 2-D animal.  Is it visible and does it create an interesting focal point to your scene?

Adding my 2-D animal took a little bit of setting up, but once everything was cut out of the background, the lion went into the image very well and I angled it in a way so that the sun would illuminate it and it casts a shadow.

Discuss what you did to give this scene depth.

I added a "mist" feature to the background to add a sense of depth. As well as the shadows being cast on to ground or other terrains, such as the mountain shadows casting on other mountains.

Discuss an area that could be improved.

I think I definitely could've added a little more to the background instead of just the "mist" which covers the everlasting flat ground beyond the mountains.
